I am a 43 year old grad student with the ordinary problems stemming from the Standard American Diet: lots of weight to lose, a bout with high blood pressure and high cholesterol, and other issues. I
discovered raw in 2006 and saw it as a true miracle for me, but eating raw was not as simple as I thought it would be. The time it takes to prepare foods and the rising costs of produce are
challenges for me. Despite the health improvements I experienced, I let stress get the best of me and fell off the raw wagon. In 2007 I tried variations of whole foods and raw eating - namely high
raw, vegan and vegetarian- and noticed the effects they had on me. I even got a nutritionist to better educate myself about nutrition. I have decided that if I can manage it, 100% raw is the best way
for me to go. 2008 promises to be an exciting one as I use all that I have learned over the past 2 years to return to 100% raw. Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to raw, so this blog
recounts my challenges and successes in finding my own raw plan.
